New Smilex album out now!

We have some very exciting news... we have finally released 2nd album Smilex 'La Petite Mort'!

Six years in the making and it is finally here, despite so many obstacles in their way (as there is for all unsigned bands), they have finally got there!
The majority of it was recorded back in 2010 with Dave Evans, when we escaped to Devon to Propagation Studios and spent a few snowy weekends playing loudly and sleeping in a mobile home that had seen better days, eating scones and getting stuck in the mud. Fun times.

Personal circumstances, lack of finances and the departure of Jen the bassist meant that the outcome of these weekends was hidden on a hard drive until the Summer of 2013 when the search began for ways to get the album into a listenable format. Thankfully Ace (Skunk Anansie), Piers Mortimer (Headline Music Studios) and Scot Mckenzie (USB Productions) agreed to put the final mixing touches to the album and make the album a reality. The next step was mastering which Pete Maher (U2, Rolling Stones, Depeche Mode, NIN and Jack White) kindly agreed to do and what we now have is 'La Petite Mort' a record we are extremely proud of and excited to release into the world.

Lee recently did an interview with the Oxford Mail regarding the release: http://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/leisure/musics/10838987.Smilex__Oxford_s_art...
