Mr Shaodow

Mr ShaoDow (pronounced Sha-ow-dough) is the very definition of a DiY Artist. At age 18 he traveled alone to China in order to learn Shaolin Kung Fu.
It was there that he discovered a true love for the art of music and lyricism. This love grew with him throughout his time in university. Graduating with a Law Degree he made the bold, albeit risky decision to become a full time artist.
Unwilling to wait for the industry to ‘discover’ him ShaoDow travels the entire UK selling his CDs, performing, promoting his music and introducing himself directly to the people.
It is this relentless approach that sets him apart, from Bournemouth to Scotland, he has sold over 7,500 copies of his CD’s on his own, organically built a formidable following and wracked up over 5,000 fans on Facebook and over 270,000 total views on YouTube.
His music is as different as his journey, a multi-genre artist, ShaoDow is known for his intelligent, witty, often razor sharp lyricism mixed with hard hitting, bass driven, commercial sounding beats. His ability to rap on nearly any genre including; Hip-Hop, Dubstep, Rock, Grime, House and Jazz has helped him gain support and attention from Rap fans, Rock lovers and even people who have had no previous interest in the genre.
Constantly striving for success, Shao has appeared on Tim Westwood’s radio show, had a song named 4th in Oxford’s top twenty list (after Radiohead in 3rd place), been involved with charitable organisations (such as Love Music Hate Racism and anti bullying campaigns) and self-released 4 Singles and 2 EPs.

His latest single Get Stronger ft. Ghetts has brought the young rapper the most success to date. The single received airplay on national stations such as BBC 1xtra, Kiss FM and Rinse FM and playlisting on smaller regional stations. The animated music video debuted on SB.TV and achieved over 30,000 views in the first five days.
When it comes to live performances, ShaoDow has supported the likes of Chase & Status, Skepta, Chipmunk, Devlin, Akala, Giggs and was personally asked by Wiley to perform at the Manchester leg of his tour.
A professional and talented live artist, he has headlined the O2 Academy Oxford, upstaged headliners at Rock and Jazz nights and packed out tents at festivals. With an unrivalled, high energy stage show and a bit of live Kung Fu ShaoDow is definitely not one to miss.
For 2012 ShaoDow’s only goal is to improve on everything he did in 2011. With a few singles and a new LP planned for release, a UK Club Tour with ‘Love Social’ as well as his own personal ‘Black and Purple’ tour with fellow artist Zuby he has started the year in a strong position.
An unsigned artist with an unstoppable drive, ultimately, Mr ShaoDow is proof of what you can achieve if you’re willing to get up, get out and Do It Yourself.
